The Feast of the Patron Saint of Polignano a Mare

The feast of the patron saint of Polignano, San Vito, takes place on June 14, 15, 16. The beginning of the feast is marked by a procession of the relics of the saint on board a barge which begins in the village of San Vito and proceeds along the water to Polignano.
The statue of the saint and his relics are carried on shoulders till Vittorio Emanuele Square, where a solemn celebration commemorate the handing over of the town keys.
Then the statue of the saint is set on an altar built next to the clock palace for the occasion till the end of the feast.
The program of festivities includes fireworks displays and concerts.
